Actual Updates (with Glitches)

Good news: I finally uploaded Version 17, The Sacred Sea, which has been sitting in development hell on my computer since 2020! Much rejoicing!! I DID A WEB DESIGN THINGY <3 annddddddd I have officially participated in the Amassment web design event being held on Discord this fall!

What’s been updated:

  • Main domain, with 2 pages of new content (gifts and a beginner’s guide to hobby webdesign)
  • Network page
  • Explore page and links page (stopped using the /exits/ and /exits/links/ URLs because I cannot be bothered anymore, LOL)

Bad news: I can’t get the text links to stop using default color and formatting, and I can’t get the paragraphs to stop looking all squashed together. ( Everything else works on the stylesheet, and W3C didn’t catch any code errors, so I have no idea why these two rules are broken.)

I will try to fix it tomorrow, but if I can’t get it fixed, it will probably have to wait till the end of the semester. HOWEVER! I am still counting this as a win because I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do it. Fall Break helped my brain breathe long enough to do it <3<3<3

And now I am off to get started on my night routine (and try to make my brain shut up about the glitchy code XD)

New Friend Link and behind-the-scenes work!

The Nostalgia Project has its first link! Ainna of Northstar.nu emailed me a few days ago and let me know that my site had inspired her to finish her own nostalgic project about the late 90s web clique Scented Angels–her lovely tribute is called Scented, and so I’ve linked to it there to join in the memory fun! (I’ve also linked Ainna’s main domain on my Links page, under “friends”–check her site out when you get a chance!

Also, I’m currently doing background work on both Tomorrow’s Calling and The Gamer’s Repose. Both sites will receive edits to their articles, pictures, and layouts as I get time–no changes are up yet, but I hope to have some things uploaded soon. (I am superbly lazy and spend a lot of time messing around on my tablet at home, XD, but I am getting things done slowly but surely!)

Revamped: College Knowledge!

College Knowledge

I have done a complete overhaul of this site, from its color scheme to its content and everything in between! There are two entirely new sections (Schoolwork and Work), new images for every post, and everything else has at least been revised to my current standards (i.e., lots of Google Fonts and better writing). The best part? It’s even more mobile-friendly!

Let me know what you think (and if you find any bugs or strangeness on the site–well, any strangeness other than my perspective, haha)!

New Site: Mellifluous!

Mellifluous
a music tributes site

I vastly expanded my old “WMW.org Radio” site to become Mellifluous, a music tributes site featuring “new to me” songs, all time top favorite tracks, and five 20-song Youtube playlists assembled according to various themes. It’s got plenty of room for expansion as I add more favorite songs and create new playlists, but for now, enjoy what I have uploaded so far!

Revamped: Lux Perpetua!

Lux Perpetua

This little site now has a new(ish) layout design, with a new color scheme and lots (LOTS) of little polishing touches! (I plugged my WIP on Discord last night and finalized everything today!)

I’m so glad to be finally content with this layout…it only took me a year and some change to figure out that the image of Dove needed to be the lightest and brightest thing in the design! Once I realized that, then the darker color scheme quickly took shape, and I started getting more excited to fix other things about the layout. Now the code has also been updated and some writing has been tidied up as well! WOO! (Just goes to show you how a little spark of inspiration can set my whole mind ablaze with productivity!)

Revamped: The Impossible Dream!

The Impossible Dream, an unusual Olaf site

After 2 years and several (SEVERAL) revisions, this little site is finally ready to show off! What was once a tiny site of 5 pages has now been rewritten and expanded with 5 brand-new articles to round out the content, including an introduction to Olaf as a character. I think I’ve finally nailed everything I wanted to say about Olaf and why I find so much to love about his character in the film!

(Fun facts: I actually had this revamp technically done on the 20th, but I waited a couple of days to see if I wanted to add anything more before officially plugging it here…also, I am still open to suggestions, especially about design choices!)

Revamped: Novel Progress Page!

Novel Progress

My third project of 2017 is live! (Actually, I even completed it yesterday–thank you, snow days! xD)

Now this little page shows the current state of my novels…yup, that’s right, novels! I took the one big book I’ve been working on for YEARS and officially split it into three books. The second and third books are novel-length already (over 75,000 words), and the first book will be as soon as I beef it up with more story and description. At least…I hope so ^_^;

Anyhow, take a moment and check out the new and improved-ness! YAY PRODUCTIVITY AT LAST 😀

Relaunched: Ephemera

e p h e m e r a
an unusual Clefairy site

My first official project of 2017 is complete! What was once “Elusive Enchanter” has been reborn and completely overhauled as Ephemera, a much better fansite for my favorite little Pokemon.

The site now features:

  • All-new seven-part info section about Clefairy in the anime & games
  • Expanded mythology articles
  • Larger poetry section, with five original poems inspired by Clefairy
  • Expanded music article and broadened song selection (each song has its own page now)
  • Images to enhance and illustrate content
  • Completely redesigned layout, including two tricks I’ve never tried before: a shimmery text effect in the top bar (thanks to Masao for helping me debug!!) and a partially-transparent cloud image floating atop the layout.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

(I am also still trying to make the shimmer text effect work in IE, to no avail–I have tried some fallback styles but I don’t think I’m doing them right. Any advice is greatly appreciated, as always!)
