Music Updates and Happy News

First off, a wonderful wonderful update: I got married on June 21st, 2020! A day I have thought about for twelve and a half years finally came true thanks to the help of lots of loving friends and family <3 it was awesome! 😀

One reason I’ve been pretty slow on updates around here is that my new husband and I are now living in (and renovating/cleaning out) the three floors of the home I grew up in. My dad got remarried in April and moved in with my stepmom instead of staying here–her one-level house is safer for him, given his limited mobility (especially since his strokes in 2018 and 2019). So we’re working on replacing carpet, painting, redecorating as necessary, and processing out all the items we no longer need, etc…which is taking a LOT of time but will be well worth it in the end!

I did, however, make some time to update my “new music” playlist over at Mellifluous–didn’t realize I’d discovered 14 new songs since February! 😀 Check it out when you get a chance!

Updated 2020: Mellifluous!

I updated my music site, Mellifluous, this evening! Now it loads with a fresh new YouTube playlist, containing my recent favorite music–no more waiting years to update because I don’t feel like fiddling with HTML. Woo for modern conveniences!

While updating, I also discovered that all my other playlists and even one of the videos on my All Time Favs page was deleted or missing, so I went through and fixed those problems. All playlists and videos should be good to go again! (It had been about 3 years since I checked them…whoops, lol)

Anyhow, enjoy the newness, and I hope you find a new favorite song among the things I’ve added! I’ve got a little bit of everything!

Exits and Links Pages Updated!

After about 2 years, both my Exits and Links pages have received fresh layout updates and content reviews! WOO I DID SITE STUFF AFTER EONS *pompoms*

Both now sport more floral layouts to match the domain layout (which I’m still pretty happy with), and they involve better coding and design techniques–the exits page in particular features a new CSS technique called Flexbox, which will make my designing life about 5000% easier. I’m now super excited to try this on some other layouts!

New Host and Actual Updates, Wow

Things have been a bit busy behind the scenes here at WMWorg! Recently, I found out that my previous host was going to be tripling the price of my plan, so I purchased new hosting with Teacake.org and moved there officially this past week. There were a few bugs to iron out, but Masao (the owner of Teacake.org) was super awesome with troubleshooting and getting me settled in. YAY for great web buddies ♥

Also, I’ve been doing a bit of cleanup work around the main page, network page, and links page. It had been almost two years since I updated the links page, but admittedly the last year and a half has been pretty hectic IRL, so it’s understandable. Now, at least, everything is tidy again, and my newest site The Other Slipper has its official place on my network page!

Lastly, I had hoped to release a project on October 25th, but work on that has been delayed due to my health. Hopefully I will get feeling better ASAP and can finish it, because it’s a labor of love and I can’t wait to show it off!

Updated: Mellifluous and Unwind

Finally managed to do a little maintenance and updating on my music site, Mellifluous, and my ASMR site, Unwind. Mellifluous now boasts 5 “hot new” songs from my collection, audible through YouTube videos, and Unwind has 67 new featured videos! Wooo!

In other news, I am still hard at work on my Seto Kaiba fansite and hope to release that later this year if time and health permit. (I’ve been facing possible surgery so things have kinda been crazy around the house :/ )

Version 16 Up and Running!

WOOT! This is a momentous day for WithinMyWorld.org–for the first time, she’s sporting a mobile-friendly and responsive PARALLAX layout! (If you don’t know what parallax is or why anybody would geek out over it, let’s just say parallax is the reason why my site looks so sleek and scrolls so pretty with all the different images. LOL!) I am in love with it and can’t stop scrolling up and down, thinking, “OH WOW I HELPED MAKE THIS???” (If it hadn’t been for that demo I found, I would have never gotten it to work!)

The network page has received a matching facelift, though it was a bit rushed–I couldn’t figure out how to make the silly divs obey me, so I had to use the trusty table tag again. (Hey, if it ain’t broke in most browsers, don’t fix it, right? ROFL) Also, I added a page about this new design over at Disguises, my layout archive.

Y’all, I am SUPER EXCITED about finally being able to make this work! As always, let me know if a few code bugs slipped out while I wasn’t looking, and I hope you enjoy!

Important Update

I know WMW.org has been quiet for the last month, and there is a reason for that. My mom passed away on April 25th, 2017, after a very long and painful battle with multiple illnesses; the last eight months of her life were misery and agony, and she wanted to be with her father, brother, sister, and mother again. I prayed for her to be healed and whole and happy again…and she is now. Even though I miss her terribly, I would not wish for her to be imprisoned in her injured and ailing physical body again. But it was very hard to work on anything site-related when I pretty much knew she was not going to be here much longer, as you can imagine.

I don’t know what I will be able to get done here throughout the rest of 2017…things are still strange and empty here at home, and grief is a weird ebb and flow of tides in my head. But I did want to share with you the playlist I made for Mom’s Celebration of Life–I wanted others to know my mom through music, because she loved music. I hope you enjoy it. <3

Cleaned Up: Illuminate!

Illuminate
a depression information site

After a year and some change (both figuratively and literally), I have gone back to tackle this site! Since I have been recently diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, whose symptoms include depression, I have added important details about how PTSD connects to depression to round out this site and make it more informative and helpful. (I also added Google Fonts, a new button, and updated code to my current standards.) Let me know what you think!

Hard at Work on Absentia and The Impossible Dream!

I’ve been quiet about my work on Absentia (my Eighth Doctor site), but that doesn’t mean I quit working on it entirely! (I did have some slowdowns due to lack of inspiration and motivation, but I think I’m fighting through those now :D)

Anyhow, I’ve added a couple new articles to Absentia: PTSD, the Eighth Doctor, and Me, and A Wacky Theory about the TV Movie. Check ’em out, let me know if they look weird or are hard to read, and let me know what you think about the topics I’ve covered! 😀

Also, I’m working behind the scenes on my Olaf site, The Impossible Dream (not going to link it yet because what is currently up is kind of embarrassing slkdjflksjdf). It got nominated for a Shrine Spotlight award over at Amassment, so I’m newly motivated to get this thing shined up and beefed up with more content, better layout/fonts, etc.!
