Finally got around to removing my MTG trades database–I got tired of trying to make the database script work, and I was no longer interested in trying to maintain it. Hopefully sometime in the future I’ll learn how to make a searchable PHP database, but for now it was more important to tidy up the domain.
As far as I know, I’ve removed all the links to the trades database–if you find a stray one lingering around, leave me a comment 🙂
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT ACTUAL UPDATES? WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!
LOL! All kidding aside, the webmistress page has been thoroughly updated (it has become a PAGE rather than a terribly-involved SITE), and WMW.org’s past layouts now reside on a little mini-site all their own. Go check ’em out! These are just a couple of previews of what you can expect when Version 14 hits!
I’m taking time with this redesign (but don’t I always? LOL)!
One reason this is taking so long is because I’m giving all the mini-sites a new look, similar to what the video games site and the British TV shows site have. (Once their redesigns are complete, I hope to not have to redesign them again for a while…whew!)
The main domain look has been pretty “set” for a while, but I actually might change a few things more before it goes live. I’ve also got to do the news blog look…and then I think (THINK) I’ll be ready to launch V14. Just trying to squish out all the air bubbles and kill all the code bugs first. XD
With the closure of Posterous, I no longer have an external place to update about my novel…thus, I built a little novel page to show you my progress on my very first adventure into book-writing!
Check my “Novel Progress” out here!
If you’ve wondered why there has been a lot of radio silence here at WMW.org, it’s because I’ve been keeping up with my blog, Crooked Glasses. (If you’ve never checked it out, please do so–I write about all kinds of topics, because my personal life is just not that interesting. LOL)
I’ve also been trying to put together many of the little fansites I’ve been promising for over a year. My video game fansite, as well as my Dove fansite and my British TV shows site, are all in various stages of completion. (Actually, I think my Brit-TV site might be almost done…haven’t glanced in the folder in, uh, a while. XD)
Keep up with this page for further updates–I promise you, when a site of mine is actually finished, you’ll hear the whoop of joy from wherever you are in the world. XD
I swear it. These two sites I’m working on are just about top priority. Y’know, after my usual weekly work, my blog posts, and sleeping. LOL
Currently in the process of creating seven fully-fleshed-out sites, in addition to blogging six days a week. Yep, that’s right, SEVEN sites, and six blog posts a week. :O I think I might just be crazy. Either that, or my content bug is flying around out of control. LOL
The only thing I’m having difficulty with is my layouts for all these sites. Having content is great, but layouts have always bugged me. (Get it? Bug? xD I’m so lame. 😛 ) Hoping my webdesign bug decides to cooperate and help me make pretty layouts to go with all this great content–and soon!
I did finally complete everything that needed fixing around WMW.org. Let me know if you see any other problems, especially in browsers besides Firefox, IE, and Chrome.
Now that v13 is finally live, I can begin working on my (huge) projects list. Here’s what I’m going to be working on for the next few
- Super Mario RPG
- British TV Shows:
- Are You Being Served?
- Are You Being Served? Again!
- Waiting for God
- Downton Abbey
- Dove II (Dawn Granger) from Hawk & Dove comics
And I also have ideas bouncing around for a simple Tumblr theme help site, but I’m not sure if I have the expertise with Tumblr themes yet. LOL
Keep an eye on this blog and Twitter feed to learn about new projects here at WMW.org! (I hope some of them will at least come to fruition before the year’s out… LOL)
Got most of the little fixes complete around the site–still have to work out the odd spacing issue on the webdesign tutorials mini-site, but everything else looks shipshape and Bristol fashion. 😛
Well, except that I forgot to write up version 13’s inspiration paragraph, and I accidentally broke one of the affiliate links… ;_; Okay, okay, I’m continuing to putter around fixing stuff. xD
Let me know what you think about all the various layouts–I did a whole slew of them, for the main domain, the webmistress page, and the Surviving College article series, as well as the webdesign tutorials, as I mentioned above, the links page, the network page, and even the joined fanlistings page. I challenged myself, in each of these layouts, to use colors that don’t usually get used together, and use icon navigation instead of text links. How’d I do? Let me know in the comments!
At LAST! It is uploaded and stuff is (mostly) done!
I don’t promise that absolutely everything works or looks the way it was supposed to–I find myself suddenly on a time crunch, mainly because CSS and HTML decided to go without their Midol today. *shakes fist at stupid code that took an hour to debug*
But I got mostly everything uploaded, and will continue to debug over the next couple of days. (Tell me, why is it that code can look absolutely PERFECT on my home computer, yet look like a piece of used toilet paper when I upload it? SIGH.)
Things that need to be fixed:
– the RSS page, because I kinda forgot about styling it
– new webmaster pic on contact page
– new link button on Affiliate page to reflect new layout
– Layout page, because the script that runs it appears to be broken
– writeup of Version 12 (which was just taken down)
– fanlisting page needs an intro
– one webdesign tuts page has some spacing issues
As you can see, there’s a lot to do yet, but it’s mostly small stuff. The big stuff–namely, the layouts and new content–is all up for your perusal! Enjoy the new look(s)–because there are multiples!
